The School of Cosmetology
Style Mobb University School of Cosmetology offers a variety of certifications to help prepare students for the beauty industry. Our courses provide a strong foundation in hair, skin, and nail care and lead to certificates in Master Cosmetology, Hair Design, Esthetics, and Nail Care. Our dual enrollment program allows students to take a minor course such as Wig Designer, Celebrity Hair Stylist, Body Contouring Specialist, Professional Set Makeup Artist, and more. This allows our students to get State Board Exam ready, gain advanced training, and specialize in their area of interest.

Student Performance/Graduation Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses and credits to graduate.

Master Cosmetology Program (Major)
The Style Mobb University Master Cosmetologist program offers comprehensive training and education in the cosmetology field. Students will gain knowledge in safety and sanitation, state laws and regulations, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, skin, hair, and nail diseases and disorders, hair treatments and manipulations, hair shaping, hair styling, Advanced Hair Weaving and Extensions, braiding, chemical reformation and application, skin and nail care, hair coloring, hair lightening, business management, and advanced business practices. Upon completion, students will be prepared to pursue successful careers in the cosmetology and beauty industry.

Hair Design Cosmetology Program (Major)
The Hair Designer Technical Certificate of Credit is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the field of hair design. Learning opportunities develop academic and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes specialized training in safety, sanitation, state laws, rules, and regulations, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, hair and scalp diseases and disorders, hair treatments and manipulations, hair shaping, hair styling, artificial hair, braiding and intertwining hair, chemical reformation and application, hair coloring, hair lightening, reception, sales, management, and work ethics. The curriculum meets state licensing requirements of the State Board of Cosmetology.

Esthetics Program (Major)
The objective of the Esthetician program is to develop in the student the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional attitudes necessary for success in the Esthetic industry and profession. To provide a content-rich curriculum that meets State, National and International requirements in theory, lab, and clinical experience, and that prepares students to confidently enter the industry ready to work. To train students to critically think as they assess and address the individual needs of each client. The goal of this program is to qualify and equip the student with the tools, experience, and confidence necessary to pass the State of Georgia Licensing Examination and to assure the student is the top candidate for future employers or business opportunities with our advanced training.

SMU'S NAIL CARE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PASS THE GEORGIA STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY EXAMINATION AS WELL AS PREPARE THEM FOR A POSITION IN A SALON OR SPA. THE NEED FOR PROFESSIONAL NAIL TECHNICIANS TO PROVIDE CREATIVE ARTISTIC, HEALTHY, AND BEAUTY SOLUTIONS FOR THE INDUSTRY IS GROWING RAPIDLY AND OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO ASSURE WE TRAIN AND EDUCATE THE TOP CANDIDATES. Educator "Instructor" Program (Major)
The objective of the educator program is designed to provide aspiring beauty professionals with the knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to become successful beauty industry educators. The program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the beauty industry and the science of teaching. From new, relevant teaching methods to situational content that addresses adaptability, inclusivity, diversity, and ability, this program delivers the most up-to-date, comprehensive education for future beauty and wellness educators. This program consists of classroom instruction, hands-on activities, and practical experience in a salon setting. Students will learn the fundamentals and science of teaching and the importance of creating a positive learning environment for their students.
