SMU Homecoming is an annual tradition that brings Beauty Education & the Beauty Industry together to celebrate beauty! It's a week-long celebration that occurs in the fall and culminates in a Hair Battle and Hair Styling & Cut parties. Homecoming is a time for SMU's students, alumni, and the community to come together to celebrate the beauty industry spirit and pride.
SMU Homecoming is a highly anticipated tradition that brings together Beauty Education and the Beauty Industry in a week-long celebration of beauty. As the first cosmetology school to have a homecoming celebration, we take great pride in creating events that showcases the talents and spirit of our students, alumni, and the community. The week is filled with exciting events, including Hair Styling & Cut parties, Special guest speakers, student ran activities and our Beauty School Hair Battle which culminate in a grand celebration of the beauty education.
This year, our 4th Annual Homecoming weekend will take place on October 22nd - 27th, 2024.

Witness the excitement and beauty pride at our 4th Annual Homecoming, where our Peacocks will once again showcase their talent and skills in a battle for the top prize and our alumnus are welcomed back to campus.

Attention all beauty and hair school students! Are you ready to showcase your talent and creativity on an international stage? The 4th annual Tailgate Hair Battle is back and this year, we're opening the competition to students from all corners of the world. Get ready for the ultimate beauty and hair extravaganza, The Queen & King of Beauty Pageant. We've got not one, but three categories lined up for you: Presentation, Evening Gown or Formal Wear, and Sleek Hair. Our prestigious pageant is sponsored by the renowned Bold Hold Lace Products, and all participating contestants must use these products in their hair looks. Our judges, some of the most renowned experts in the beauty and barber industry, will be looking for flawless lace applications, impeccable hair execution, and an overall cohesive model look.
The stakes are high, with a cash prize of $500 and the coveted title of Homecoming Queen or King of Beauty up for grabs. Registration is now open, and we welcome all beauty and hair school students to join us in this exciting competition. Not only will you have the opportunity to flaunt your skills and passion for the beauty industry, but you'll also gain valuable education and insight from the best in the business. NAIL BATTLE
We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to this year's events: the Fantasy Nail Battle! In this pre-done fantasy nail contest, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their creative nail designs to our esteemed panel of judges. Your entry will be judged based on your imagination, creativity, and skills, all inspired by our Peacock theme. We are excited to see your best fantasy nail designs and give you the freedom to bring your creative vision to life.
We invite 10 Nail Schools or currently enrolled students in a nail program or master cosmetology program to compete for the title of the 2024-2025 Next Up Iconic Nail Professional(s).
